This is some information about a Congressional Bill to assist hams with restrictions often imposed by Home Owners Associations on erecting antennas for communications. They have already had some limitations removed for satalitte dishes etc.
H.R. 1094: Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act
https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/119/hr1094
Depending on where in Jefferson County you may live, you can contact either Congressman Brett Guthrie (Phone: (202) 225-3501) or Congressman Morgan McGarvey (202-225-5401).
A phone call is the most effective way to relay your desires to a Congress. Physical mail is often very delayed due to security checks (remember the "white powder anthrax" scares a few years back?) Emails are so numerous due to various organized lobbying efforts, they too are often delayed in getting through. Usually you will get a canned response about "Thank you for contacting me..."
A phone call is quicker and more efficient as the staff will keep tallys on how many people call in with their yes or no desires on various issues. Be sure to give them your address to verify that you ARE a constituent and also have the bill or resolution number to better inform them what you are talking about. In this case, H.R.1094. Just simply state you wish for them to support or resist the bill as necessary. Ask them to support and co-sponser the legislation in this case.
It is a quick and easy process and I have always found staff to be courtious and responsive to any questions.
You would be amazed as to how few people contact legislators on any number of subjects. In this case, even just a few calls could make a difference, of course the MORE the better. If a particular Congressman is not hearing from the public about issues such as this, he may very well talk to another Congress in another districe to gage how the public feels about certian subjects. YOUR phone call might very well influence several other Congressmen as well. Make a difference! Make that call!!

KY4COP
The event was attended by my self N9PMI, Don (K2KFE), Mike (AG4EP), Greg (WX8V), Keith (KO4SWB) and Scott (K3SDM). While up at the park, we battled with 40+ mph winds and spitting rain. We had no major issues other than my tripod holding my EFHW toppled over. That was solved by adding some counter weigh. While there we operated on multiple bands and multiple modes including SSB, FT8 and CW. We made 184 contacts and of that 24 were Park 2 Parks. A good day in the activating world considering weather conditions.
ARTS is planning on making club activations a regular monthly even happening on the 3rd Saturday of every month. We will post information to the club mailing list and the website.
This link will let you download a copy of the slide show from my presentation at the 11-10-22 ARTS General meeting. In there is good information on Parks on the Air (POTA) You may also go to https://parksontheair.org.
Thanks to all of you who make this a success.
At the December 2024 ARTS meeting our traditional Christmas Mystery Gift Exchange will place. The way it works is members bring a wrapped unmarked ham-radio related gift of about $25 worth. Numbers are issued to the participants. When your number ticket is drawn, you get to choose any one gift that remains. If you touch it, it’s yours! In the past there has been a lot of pretty good stuff exchanged, such as working handi-talkies!
To participate, simply bring a wrapped HAM Radio related gift (new or used) to the December meeting and put it on the Gift Table. You never know what you may go home with!
Also, please make sure your gift is in good working order, and does not need repair. See you there!

1) GHD GN807F key
The GHD GN807F key is an Entry-Level Iambic Paddle has a simplified mechanical mechanism with lighter spring tension than the larger and heavier GHD models. The GN807F has a physically smaller base than the other models, with silver plated contacts and black finger pieces. This model does have a 1:1 finger to contact ratio like the DX paddles with a good range of contact spacing and tactile feedback. Its smaller size and lower weight make the GN807F a good option for portable or travel use; a very good all-purpose CW paddle.
This key was purchased new <24 months ago and has had minimal use in my operations. Comes with key cable and connector. Asking $155 and prefer to sell locally rather than shipping it out. New sells for $200 at most places and if you buy one from Japan it may be subject to extra tariff charges. Contact Paul NK4P at

4) Jetstream 2m/70cm base station antenna For Sale ................ $55.00 (Bill KC4ZMZ)
I had this antenna up for a couple years at my house, worked great but the trees are growing so fast I had to put up a shorter antenna to keep it out of the trees in the wind. The antenna is just over 17 ft long when assembled. It is composed of 3 sections that connect together. At present the antenna is in my garage fully assembled. Disassembly is easy. Specifications are listed below. My email is up to date on QRZ.com.
